Any student majoring (or minoring) in Art, regardless of concentration (Fine Art, Photo, or Graphic Design), is allowed to register for the Winter Intersession section.* The course will count as an Art History Elective. Take advantage of this opportunity — ART 3163 is typically only open to students who have been accepted into the Graphic Design concentration!
Are you a student in the Graphic Design concentration?
History of Graphic Design is a required course for students majoring in Graphic Design. The Winter Intersession section will fulfill this requirement.
FORMAT/STRUCTURE
The course format is online asynchronous. This means all course activity is conducted online with students completing the coursework on their own time, within timelines set by the instructor. There are no required face-to-face sessions within the course and no requirements for on-campus activity.
Over the course of the semester, students will complete one discussion (introducing yourself to the class), three open-book tests, and one visual essay (creative exercise) in Canvas.

The required textbook by Eskilson can be purchased from several online vendors as well as the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Barnes & Noble bookstore. Test content will come exclusively from the textbook. A small selection of supplemental readings and videos will be posted to Canvas.
