Interior design student selected as 2016 orientation leader

Twenty-three top Mississippi State students are leaders of the university’s 2016-17 orientation programs.

Working with the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, ĂŰĚŇ´«Ă˝app Orientation Leaders provide assistance and share their knowledge of the 138-year-old land-grant institution with incoming freshman and transfer students—and their parents—during each school year’s various registration and information sessions.

Ranging from sophomores to seniors, members are selected through a rigorous screening process. This year, 75 students were considered.

The 2016-17 group includes (by hometown):

BROWNSVILLE, Tennessee—Senior Molly M. McAdams, an animal and dairy science major and 2013 Haywood High School graduate. She is the daughter of Jim and Jan McAdams.

CLEVELAND—Sophomore Elaine Vyles, a human sciences/human development and family studies major and 2014 Cleveland High School graduate. She is the daughter of Benny Williams and Amanda McMillan.

COLLIERVILLE, Tennessee—Junior Taylor Darnell, a human sciences/human development and family studies major and 2014 Memphis Home Educator Association graduate. She is the daughter of Ben and Shawn Darnell.

COLUMBUS—Sophomore Austin Fitch, a communication/broadcasting and public relations major and 2014 Heritage Academy graduate. He is the son of Terry and Karen Fitch.

CORINTH—Sophomore Hayden W. Park, a pre-accounting major and 2014 Corinth High School graduate. He is the son of the late Thomas Park and Brenda Park.

FLOWOOD—Sophomore Tyler B. McMurray, an animal and dairy science major and 2014 Northwest Rankin High School graduate. She is the daughter of Dr. Robert McMurray and Dr. Miriam Shatley.

GULFPORT—Junior Kristian R. Hefley, a communication/journalism major, 2013 Harrison Central High School graduate and the daughter of Chad and Paula Hefley; and sophomore Savannah M. Metz, an aerospace engineering/astronautics major, 2014 Gulfport High School graduate and the daughter of Allan and Lisa Metz.

HARVEST, Alabama—Sophomore Joshua F. “Josh” Daniels, a biochemistry/pre-medicine and foreign language/German double-major and 2014 Providence Classical School graduate. He is the son of John and Roxanne Daniels.

HATTIESBURG—Junior Abby K. Richardson, an interior design major and a 2013 Presbyterian Christian School graduate. She is the daughter of Brent and Robbie Richardson.

HOLLANDALE—Senior Haley L. Hobart, a biochemistry/pre-medicine major and 2013 Deer Creek School graduate. She is the daughter of Chip and Mary Hobart.

HOOVER, Alabama—Sophomore Molly C. Dance, a communication/public relations major and 2014 Hoover High School graduate. She is the daughter of Jeff and Janice Dance.

JACKSON, Tennessee—Sophomore Alice H. “Ali” Graham, a kinesiology/clinical exercise physiology major and 2014 University School of Jackson graduate. She is the daughter of Chris and Ann Graham.

MADISON—Sophomore Audrey K. Jarvis, a human sciences/fashion design and merchandising major and the daughter of Mike and Janie Jarvis; junior Katelyn E. Seago, a psychology major and the daughter of Paul and Gail Seago and Karen Seago; and sophomore Calvin D. Waddy, a finance major and the son of Calvin Waddy Jr. and Kim Waddy. Jarvis and Seago are 2014 Madison Central High School graduates; Waddy, a 2014 graduate of Germantown High School.

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee—Junior Joshua P. “Josh” Barnett, a kinesiology/clinical exercise physiology major and 2014 Seigel High School graduate. He is the son of Matt and Sheila Barnett.

OLIVE BRANCH—Sophomore Caroline G. “Gracie” Hoggard, a psychology major and 2014 Olive Branch High School graduate. She is the daughter of Steve and Melodie Hoggard.

STARKVILLE—Sophomore Jacob H. “Jake” Goodwin, a communication/public relations major, 2014 Starkville Academy graduate and the grandson of Don and Anita Goodwin; and senior Ogorchukwu Jennifer “Ogo” Johnson, a native of Nigeria majoring in psychology, 2011 Christ the Redeemer’s College graduate and the daughter of George and Iyabo Adebiyi.

TUPELO—Junior Mary Jennings Bouchillon, a kinesiology/clinical exercise physiology major, 2013 Tupelo High School graduate and the daughter of Paul and Susan Bouchillon; and sophomore William G. “Kyle” Holliman, a business administration major, 2014 THS graduate and the son of Skipper and Beth Holliman.

VICKSBURG—Junior Jerome E. Woodson, a communication/public relations major and 2013 Vicksburg High School graduate. He is the son of Jerome Woodson Sr. and Catrina Miller.
